Regularly portrays Harriet Tubman (signature character) for educational institutions, local and state governments, cultural organizations, community groups, churches and special events.
Continually researches scholarly papers, autobiographies, and historical books and primary source documentation on Harriet Tubman’s life; as well as literature on Slavery, the Underground Railroad – it’s operation and it’s people, Antebellum Era, the Civil War, Women in History, Reconstruction.
Presently a contracted actor with the National Constitution Center, performing interpretive narration of Freedom Rising, a multi-media presentation on the United States Constitution (selected as the first actor to perform the “Freedom Rising” show at the opening of the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia in 2003).
Director of Programming for the Civil War & Underground Railroad Museum (2005-2008), researching, writing and producing historically accurate living history performance programs, focusing on the 19th century.
Commissioned by the New Jersey Secretary of State in 2002 to portray Harriet Tubman on a two-week, 180 mile walk across the State retracing the route of the Underground Railroad.
